For Freedom

True freedom comes from only one place.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:12-14, 16-18‬ (‭NIV)‬‬

When Jesus walks into the room, he brings freedom with him.

Freedom from fear.
Freedom from sickness.
Freedom from anger.
Freedom from self-hatred.
Freedom from bitterness.
Freedom from depression.
Freedom from crippling doubt.
Freedom from self-obsession.

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” Galatians 5:1 (NIV)

When freedom is offered to us, why do we let ourselves stay burdened, or become burdened again? Our fleeting inclination is washed away because we have not allowed the substance of scripture and the sealing of the Holy Spirit to create a permanent branding on our soul.

You are free for a reason.

That reason is the illumination, the magnification and the glorification of Jehovah, the only true God.

Don’t doubt it, forget it, squander it, cheapen it or ignore it.

Embrace that freedom.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour.” Isaiah 61:1-2 (NIV)

And then show others how to walk in it.
